6th World Water Forum Time for Solutions Global Event Tackles the Worlds Water Challenges Every three years since 1997 the World Water Forum aims to tackle global water challenges and help elevate water on all political agendas On March 12 17 2012 more than 25000 water industry professionals will gather in Marseille France for the sixth installment of the event While previous forums focused on diagnosing and debating water challenges Istanbul 2009 Mexico 2006 Kyoto 2003 The Hague 2000 Marrakech 1997 this years event will concentrate on solutions Organized by the French State together with the World Water Council and City of Marseille the Forum of Solutions will bring key stakeholders together to share solutions and commit to concrete actions The 6th World Water Forum is to be the Forum of Commitments and Solutions and we are looking forward to concrete actions towards solving the world water problems said Benedito Braga president of the 6th World Water Forum and vice president of the World Water Council We invite proposals which are feasible in restrained financial social and environmental conditions The possibilities offered to the water professionals to interact with high level political decision makers make the Forum an ideal platform for discussing the way forward With a focus on practical solutions the 6th World Water Forum helped launch an international Platform of Solutions to collect and share concrete solutions from all horizons The website www SolutionsforWater org acts as an interactive tool that enables anyone to propose and access feasible solutions related to the Forum priorities and targets It also helps foster and secure the necessary commitments for their implementation and upscaling throughout the world This international platform is a working space a knowledge sharing basis a network as well as an international communication and exchange device to last beyond March 2012 The thematic framework of the Forum addresses both waterrelated actions needed to face todays development challenges in addition to the means necessary to ensure those actions which are cross cutting Some emerging issues not dealt with in previous Forums have found their way to the forefront The scope of this framework aims beyond simply solving water issues It invites to think bigger and outside the water box 10 February 2012 Water Waste Processing www waterwaste com
